The Academic Staff Union of Research Institutions (ASURI) has suspended its endless strike. Review that the association had left on an endless strike last October over irritating issues with the Federal Government. The association reported the suspension of the strike in a letter to the Minister of Labor and Employment, Chris Ngige, endorsed by its Secretary General, Comrade Theophilus Ndubuaku. The letter read: "The Academic Staff Union of Research Institutions (ASURI), therefore writes to illuminate you regarding our choice to suspend, with quick impact, our continuous strike called to fight the accompanying issues: "Refusal of the regulating services, divisions and organizations (MDAs) to carry out the Conditions of Service (CoS) of Federal Research Agencies, Institutions and Colleges (CoS 19) as endorsed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF) with impact from January 1, 2019.
